This scene arises when the three exclusive passengers make their way to the secondary emergency life pod that is situated in the stern of the transport ship.

As they make their way down to the back of the cargo hold, a pirate stray shot hits the port side of the transport ship where both the shield and plating had depleted… causing a breach in the cargo hold.

One of the Mercenary is immediately sucked out into the void along with cargo within the hold. Another is clinging on for his dear life. While the one holding the special item is sealing the door behind him. They are not betraying trust… instead honouring it by being steadfast to their mission objective.

The one clinging too has a mission and he stays behind to carry it out.
